Care for the Poor is the name of a young, fast growing aid project in the Kebele 06 district of Ethiopia´s capital city, Addis Abeba. Check out our website to find out more about:
Care for the Poor's purpose is to put an end to the deadly HIV virus in the Kebele 06 slums and to give basic training and a future to the many (orphaned) children in the district. The project was started in 2004. Since then, CFP has helped save the lives of dozens of AIDS patients, equipped hundreds of young and older people in the district so as to prevent them from contracting the HIV virus, and given a one-year prep school training to several hundred young orphans and vulnerable children, thus giving them access to the state schools and a greater chance of advanced training. In the period 2006-2008 we hope to triple or quadruple the number of CFP beneficiaries in the district.
